What? I made that for dinner... NO WAY!

So I love to cook.

And my minor breakdown this past november when i wanted to go to join the peace corps or go to a culinary school in Tuscany just so i could have a change of scenery reminded me that i really have always wanted to be a chef. own my own place and cook all day. i of course would have someone to do the dishes and clean up after me. i find myself watching the Food Network and the travel channel more than i probably should.

So you can imagine how proud i was when i made Chinese BBQ Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Potstickers for dinner this week. For christmas my brother in law austin gave me two woks! this is the second dish i have made with them. so much fun. My roommates and I decided that we wanted to eat healthy and cook more at home. So each Thursday is CHEF AMY's night in the kitchen. i am totally excited and can't wait to try new dishes!

Being in the kitchen with friends reminds me of growing up and spending time in the kitchen with my mom, dad, grandma, grandpas, and my aunt Kitty. the kitchen is the best room in the house. i love talking and cooking and learning and sharing experiences on a more intimate one on one level of conversation. i am thankful for the wonderful women in my life who have been key ingredients in my receipe for a happy life.

Dinners ready... do you have your chacos on?
